We purchased this period property after being approached directly by the owners. The property was once their parents family home and a lodger who occupied the ground floor became a sitting tenant, so the owners converted upper parts to 3 flats some 30 years ago and kept the property as an investment. This had all been done without planning permission or building regulations. The building was an unbroken freehold, meaning that there were no leases for the flats, All flat had been occupied by long term tenants and the building was vacant but in needed a full program of modernisation. The issue of having a building converted to flats without planning consent and without leases in place rendered the property unmortgageable and the owners contacted Spring Developments having been recommended by a friend for our friendly yet reliable approach.
